Description:

The HR generalist supports the human resource processes in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations at all business locations. The HR generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions. These include hiring, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and compensation. This role makes certain that compensation and benefit plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. The HR generalist provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies including laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal level
  • Benefits and LOA administration
  • Be the primary backup for payroll processing
  • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Submits TWC responses and online investigation requests
  • Assists payroll audit, compliance, or other HR programs
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Assists with new-employee background checks, drug screening and onboarding
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Director of HR.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists with employee related rewards program
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of human resource or related experience required
  • Experience with Paycom system would be helpful
