JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for an organized and energetic HR Generalist for a DC legal advocacy nonprofit. The Generalist will work closely with the HR team on various initiatives and will touch upon many aspects of day-to-day HR administration, such as the full-cycle recruiting process, onboarding new hires, and overseeing the performance management system. The ideal candidate will have previous recruiting and HR Coordinator experience in a non-profit environment, and excellent communication and organizational skills. This a fantastic role for someone who is ready for the next step in their career and is looking to take on more ownership of the HR function within a growing organization!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Handle full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening/interviewing, and working with hiring managers
  • Manage the onboarding and welcome process for new hires to ensure a seamless integration from day 1
  • Maintain the performance management process for employees and hiring managers
  • Continuously stay updated on HR policies, regulatory compliance changes, and other HR best practices
  • Manage the HRIS system and other HR documentation and reporting
  • Assist with various HR initiatives and create HR presentations and documents

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • SHRM or HRCI certification required
  • 3+ years of HR experience
  • 1+ years of full cycle recruiting experience
  • Non-profit or association or advocacy experience preferred
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with Paycom preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving and strategic thinking skills
