We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in talent acquisition and onboarding. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in managing various HR functions, ensuring the smooth integration of new employees, and providing comprehensive support to our workforce. This is primarily an in-office (Santa Barbara, CA or Arlington, VA) role, with the ability to work remotely 1 day a week. Relocation is not available for this role.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on talent acquisition and onboarding.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with current benefits trends and legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Collaborates with hiring managers to identify job specifications.
  • Manages the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating offer negotiations.
  • Utilizes various sourcing methods to build and maintain a talent pipeline.
  • Develops and implements effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Ensures a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

Onboarding:

  • Coordinates pre-boarding activities, including document collection, IT setup, and benefits enrollment.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for new hires, addressing any questions or concerns they may have during the onboarding process.
  • Maintains accurate records of onboarding activities and new hire information in HR systems.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the onboarding program to ensure new hires have a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Assists with the preparation and management of onboarding materials, including employee handbooks, training manuals, and compliance documents.
  • Works closely with hiring managers and departmental teams to ensure new hires receive the necessary training and resources.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the onboarding process and makes recommendations for improvements.

General HR Support:

  • Assists with Benefits Administration
  • Provides support and guidance to employees on HR-related matters, including policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.
  • Assists in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Supports HR initiatives and participates in various projects to enhance the employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Maintains accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Supports employee engagement initiatives and contributes to a positive work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
