Description:
Overview:
The HR Leave and Accommodations Advisor serves as a consultant to management on human resources related issues and acts as a champion and change agent. Assesses and anticipates HR needs, providing solutions and delivering value-added services that reflect the objectives of the organization. Is responsible for managing and supporting company-wide policies and programs related to leaves of absence, disability accommodations, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This role partners with department leaders, employees to ensure the company’s practices align with federal, state, and local employment laws. The HR Leave and Accommodations Advisor provides expertise in managing cases related to FMLA, ADA, and any related leave programs, fostering an inclusive workplace.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- 5-7+ years of experience in human resources, with a proven success in managing leaves of absence, ADA compliance, and accommodations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in a healthcare environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with other employment laws and regulations, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws.
- Ability to conduct training and develop educational materials for managers and employees on leave and accommodation policies.
