Its copper-dominant portfolio comprises four operating assets, a long-life development project and a highly prospective exploration portfolio, spanning Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. Our headquarters are in Brisbane.
About the role
This newly created role oversees a small People & Culture team within our corporate headquarters in Brisbane. Reporting directly to the GM of HR, you will lead a close knit, high performing team that includes HR partnering, ER/IR, and Talent Acquisition specialists.
To foster collaboration and a team-focused approach, you will also support site-based HR teams with any relevant escalations and provide expert advice on all things HR, to enable capability uplift of HR team, employees and leaders.
This hands on, exciting and diverse role is not your average HR or People & Culture Management opportunity! Whilst you will provide expert professional advice and support on a day-to-day basis, you will also contribute to shaping and implementing our Aeris human resources strategy, ensuring it aligns with and supports our operational objectives.
Key Areas of Accountability
Lead, coach, and mentor the HR team to foster development and create an inclusive, motivated team.
Support the GM of HR in developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business goals.
Contribute to building HR capability for direct reports and more broadly.
Collaborate with HR peers to enable effective HR practices across the employment lifecycle.
Develop and implement relevant group-wide policies, practices, and processes with the HR team.
Lead compliance activities and audits relating to IR/ER obligations and governance, identifying actionable solutions, improvements and appropriate risk management.
Enable the Talent Acquisition Team to develop and execute effective talent acquisition strategies.
Monitor and analyse HR metrics to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead or contribute to broader HR projects and centralised activities, including engagement, retention, remuneration, compliance, and performance.
Collaborate with HR systems for operational improvements, reporting requirements, including sustainability reporting and other reporting needs.
About You
Your extensive experience in operational, front-facing HR management roles within mining, resources or heavy industries will contribute to your success in this opportunity
Exceptional communication, stakeholder relationship management and influencing skills will be your biggest strength, enabling you to build effective and engaged working relationships.
You will bring a keen eye for continuous improvement and a proven track record of implementing change.
You understand that there is a clear difference between ‘leadership’ and management’ and you pride yourself in being able to effectively coach, mentor
Strong experience and knowledge in developing and implementing a broad range of HR strategies, policies and workforce planning will ensure you are successful in this position as we grow and expand our operations across Australia
Ability and willingness to travel regularly, as needed to support and engage with our operations.
