Overview:
TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is currently seeking a HR Manager in San Jose, CA to join our team. The HR Manager will provide support for a variety of both routine and more complex human resources. The primary responsibility will be to oversee employee benefits programs, support employees in resolving issues and advise managers in all human resources policies practices. The Human Resources Manager will also provide information to employees about regulations, benefits, and policies and provide widespread support and guidance to the management team.
The pay range for this position is $106,500.00 - $118,300.00.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and advanced computer literacy skills.

Responsibilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Guides HR generalist, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Assists managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics.
- Works closely with third party administrators in the resolution of employee matters regarding benefits and leave of absence matters.
- Administers non-management employee leave of absence processes, including verification of documentation, reconciliation of leave between management and third-party administrators and supporting the return-to-work process
- Oversees employment verifications, employee wage garnishments and support orders.
- Works closely with the Labor Relations Officer regarding attendance, leave of absence and other issues involving employees covered under collective bargaining agreements.
- Directs the execution of orientation for new employees.
- Reviews employee complaints and conflicts, while ensuring accurate and timely documentation of concerns or issues is maintained and facilitates actions necessary to resolve the employee issues or escalates them to appropriate management personnel.
- Advises employees and managers on concerns related to applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other similar federal and state laws.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Participates in interviews as required and assists managers in identifying and creating job-related interview questions
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
