SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university) preferred
Experience: Four to ten years related experience
Computer Skills: MS Office (excel, word, powerpoint) E-mail Internet HRIS
Certificates & Licenses: PHR preferred
Other Requirements: Manufacturing Environment and Bi-Lingual Preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Advise and train managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures and performance management
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview, and select applicants.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, or coordinate the personnel, training, or labor relations activities in the location.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, safety and recreation programs.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
  • Conduct monthly town hall meetings
  • Monthly reporting on HR activities and accomplishments.
  • Complete weekly tasks such as attendance tracking, employee records, reviews, etc
  • Conduct investigations on employee relation issues i.e. harassment, safety, etc
  • Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization’s personnel policies and practices.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Analyze training needs to design employee development, language training and health and safety programs.
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
  • Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.
  • Develop or administer special projects
  • Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers.
  • Liaison with the department of environment for water testing requirements, including annual reporting and coordination of testing facilities
  • Oversee the janitorial company, including supplies and schedules for cleaning
  • Maintain the MSDS books and chemical lists to be forwarded to the State
  • Acquire and maintain Certificate of Liability certificates for 3rd party vendors
  • Contract with vendors to provide employee services, such as food service or cleaning service.
