HR MANAGER - COMPENSATION & EVALUATION

Location: Regina, SK
Number of Positions: 1
Salary: $104,953 - $139,939 (dependent on education and experience)

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provides leadership in the development and implementation of compensation and reward programs and strategies designed to support corporate business plans and objectives.
- Determines business direction and makes decisions related to management salaries, in-scope wages, market research, data analysis, process enhancement, compensation governance and administration, policy development, compliance, and incentive plans.
- Manages the administration and design of performance-based reward programs including the linkage to the corporate business plans and applicable key indicators.
- Ensures that SaskTel is competitively positioned within the labor market and that internal relativity is fair and equitable.
- Identifies short and long-term business issues related to attraction, retention and promotion of talent, and develops and recommends compensation strategies, as well as developing specialized compensation solutions as required.
- Consults with senior management and provides analysis and resolution of a broad array of compensation issues in support of Holdco and subsidiary business plans. Provides support to Industrial Relations.
- Develops and implements flexible, supportive compensation and reward policies and procedures that meet legislative requirements and reflect SaskTel’s operating philosophy and strategies.
- Supports senior management in the development of decision and information items and materials for consideration by SaskTel’s Executive, the Governance and E&HR Committee of the Board, the Board and CIC. Conducts research and analysis and completes special projects as required.
- Reviews and recommends appropriate compensation solutions for Holdco investments and/or subsidiaries as required.
10.Communicates effectively with internal resources on all compensation issues. Develops, evolves and promotes the concept of Total Compensation as an integral component of SaskTel’s employment brand.
11.Accountable for the most effective use of financial and human resources within the HR and corporate budget. Accountable for effective cost containment for total compensation strategy.
12.Accountable for development, implementation and on-going management of effective in-scope and out-of-scope job evaluation plans and job
description systems and procedures. Plans, organizes and directs the investigation, analysis and evaluation of all jobs including coordination, training, direction and leadership of joint evaluation committees, as well as facilitation of joint evaluation meetings. Conducts special studies as required.
13.Develops and maintains leading edge knowledge of emerging HR trends and HR management practice, especially as it relates to Total Compensation best practices. Maintains a clear understanding and knowledge of SaskTel business, issues and strategy.
14.As a member of the Sales Compensation Governance Committee, accountable for the design, implementation and management of all aspects of sales compensation programs to ensure alignment to organizational objectives.
15.Accountable for providing accurate headcount information to assist in the creation of present and future headcount targets. Participates in executive headcount meetings.
16.Provides coaching and expertise regarding the headcount portfolio, and reports results to CIC, SaskTel’s Board and Executive, and all levels of management as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Human Resources along with significant HR experience and knowledge. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of compensation principles and job evaluation concepts.
- Strong planning and analytical skills.
- Thorough knowledge of SaskTel’s corporate structure including a good understanding of the job functions and duties in the various functional departments.
- An understanding of the SaskTel / Unifor collective agreement.
- Understanding of and demonstrated willingness to promote SaskTel’s vision and strategic business plan.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).
- Good presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to be innovative and flexible in a volatile and changing work environment.
10.Excellent consulting skills with the ability to impact and influence internal business units and key stakeholders.
11.Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
12.Working knowledge of SAP.
13.Demonstrated professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
