Job Details:

  • Develops the HR strategy and manages the execution for all of Dollar General’s Private Fleet operation
  • Leads a team of HR Managers and HR Generalists on all HR related matters for Private Fleet excluding Recruiting
  • Maintain the annual communications calendar for benefits, organization events, business executive meetings, and monthly initiatives for Private Fleet.
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of retention strategies that promotes employee engagement, delivers workforce stability and achieves retention goals Develop employee engagement strategies for the functional areas and execute appropriately.
  • Provides coaching to Fleet managers and Fleet supervisors.
  • Handles escalated HR questions/issues regarding Private Fleet truck drivers and leadership
  • Ensure consistency, efficiency and compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and company policies. Ensure all HR activities are compliant with the established
  • Experience in Human Resources specifically Trucking Industry
  • Experience in FMCSA laws.
  • Manages staff workload and development for direct reports
  • Creation and execution of retention stratgey
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills including strong communication skills.
  • Results driven with the proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to achieve measurable results through collaboration and influence
  • Exceptional planning, coordination, project management and implementation skills
  • Ability to communicate with employees/candidates at all levels (verbal and written communication skills)
  • Ability to act as an advisor/consultant with management team
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Basic understanding of budgeting
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access (databases) and recruitment systems

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of general HR experience preferably with a record of progressive HR leadership
  • Experience conducting and completed employee investigations
  • Ability to develop relationships and effectively influence with key stakeholders and candidates
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills including strong communication skills
  • Travel required up to 50%
