As our HR Manager you will contribute to the effective management and strategic development of the organisation’s key HR systems and to provide HR support to the Senior Leadership Team. The HR Manager will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and will lead on the delivery of a fully, values aligned HR strategy that delivers:

Your main responsibilities as HR Manager will be:

  • Undertaking line management responsibilities for the HR Team, including supervision and performance monitoring.
  • Ensuring the effective management of the organisation’s key HR systems including recruitment and induction, absence levels, training delivery, grievance, and disciplinary processes.
  • Contributing to the sustainability of existing, and development of new, services across the Business Support function.
  • Producing effective HR reports for the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
  • Maintaining and amend as necessary the HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Coaching the Senior Leadership Team as necessary, ensuring expert support is put in place that drives high standards of leadership, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Being a confident HR strategy adviser to the Audit Committee, a sub-group of our Board of Trustees, engaging with Trustees on key HR issues, risks and priorities.
  • Developing a learning and development agenda that aligns with our ambition to be a “learning organisation”, engaging our employees to fulfil their potential, perform better, and want to stay longer.
  • Willing to work outside normal working hours including evenings and weekends and to participate in promotional, fundraising and income generating events, activities and any other duties as may be reasonably required by the organisation.

To be successful as our HR Manager you will need to:

  • Have a relevant qualification in HR Management (e.g. CIPD Level 5) OR equivalent suitable HR related experience
  • Have experience in leading a People Operation or HR function
  • Have previous experience of leading operational change programmes within a HR environment
  • Have previous experience of working closely with Executive Board Members, delivering clear communications on their behalf
  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of current UK Employment Law
  • Have a track record of developing and delivering a HR strategy and of negotiating with, and advising, managers and senior staff
  • Have an understanding of change management processes and how to effectively implement change across an organisation with a diverse workforce
  • Be a confident communicator
  • Have excellent project management skills
  • Have the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment .
