Position: HR Officer (Staff) (Fixed Term Contract 6 – 8 months)
Start date: Immediate Start
The position will directly report to HR Business Partner Ireland.
Context & opportunity
The Dublin office, part of the EMEA Wholesale Banking network currently numbers approximately 110 FTE and is expected to grow in H2 2024 as it is takes responsibility and expands its activities within ING Group.

In this role you will support the local HR Business Partner in various activities and projects in all areas of HR from onboarding to offboarding, such as recruitment, performance management, training and development, employee wellbeing, international mobility and compensation and benefits for ING Ireland employees.
The HR Admin/Officer works in cooperation with the HR Business Partner and the Management team to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the HR Dept., which includes the handling of a range of day-to-day HR related tasks, development of HR internal policies and long-term HR strategies.
Main responsibilities

You support the local HR Business partner in various activities including:

  • You act as point of contact for employees for their general HR queries
  • You assist with recruitment, aligning with Hiring managers on all aspects of hiring process
  • You assist with preparation of onboarding materials for new hires
  • You support with HR administration of all aspects of the employee lifecycle including: employment contracts, follow up on holidays, leaves and absences, probationary periods, and issue of correspondence to employees
  • You manage the update of HR personal files
  • You support with the update and implementation of HR related policies and procedures
  • You assist with maintenance of employee data in Workday
  • You assist with the collection of information for monthly payroll
  • You support with the administration of international mobility
  • You participate in the organisation of in-house trainings and external professional trainings e.g. arrange venues and logistics
  • You assist with ad-hoc HR projects including support to HR Business partner with yearly Performance management process
  • You assist with the preparation of internal HR communications

Skills required

  • Good knowledge of HR activities and of Irish labour employment law
  • Strong Organization skills, hands on, pro-active attitude with high ethical standards
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills, autonomy and sense of initiative
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and time-management skills;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and discretion when handling confidential information;
  • Possess a strong customer focus; are a team player and able to work efficiently under pressure

Professional experience required:

  • University education, preferably in the area of Human Resources;
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar HR role;
  • Prior experience in HR practices with a global understanding of the employee lifecycle
  • Knowledge of financial services sector is preferable
  • Previous experience with Workday and Sharepoint an advantage
  • Excellent spoken and written English;
  • Knowledge of Irish employment legislation
