SUMMARY:

Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for an HR Specialist in the Human Resources department. The HR Specialist functions under the direction of the Supervisor of Human Resources, and is responsible for supporting and driving employee engagement, recruitment and immigration processes for Toyoda Gosei (TG) North America Corporation (TGNA) and the TGNA Manufacturing Companies (AMCs).
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor degree in business required, focus in Human Resources preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience working in Human Resources function required
- Experience with immigration / visa support is preferred
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2010 or newer is required
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
- Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
- Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism while interacting with internal and external customers is required
- Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills are required
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the visa support process for employment of foreign nationals
- Collaborate with third party legal counsel on all steps of immigration process
- Process and ensure compliance of all organization I9’s for new hires and existing team members
- Manage the process for 45-day and 90-day performance evaluations in Applicant Tracking System
- Maintain and ensure compliance of employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Support Talent Acquisition function such as screening candidates, coordinating interviews, onboarding and orientation for new hires for TGNA and AMCs as requested
- Support budgeting, planning, and the execution of team member engagement activities such as company picnic and holiday celebrations
- Serve as primary support for quarterly new hire breakfasts, department town hall meetings, all employee meetings, etc.
- Assist with the development, administration, and execution of the TGNA Summer Internship Program and Co-op Program
- Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
- This role requires the completion of other duties as assigned
