HR Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist is a key position in UNC’s Administrative Service Center (ASC) model.
The mission of the ASCs is to provide stakeholders with quality, timely a nd efficient services. ASCs will
achieve this mission by utilizing technology, cultivating the skills of our staff and building strong
relationships with campus stakeholders. ASCs will operate with the understanding that we live in a
competitive environment and our goal is to ensure efficient and effective service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of two years of progressively responsible, related experience, ideally in higher education.
Substitution: additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year
basis.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED (10%)

• Provide staffing information (new hires, changes in position or status, etc.) to ASC colleagues

within the unit/college to keep other lists updated (website, org charts, eligibility lists, etc.).

• Work with the UNC and Academic Affairs HR Specialists Teams to develop policies and

procedures, align efforts across units, and work as a team to advance Academic Affairs and HR

operations at UNC.

• Work with the college/unit ASC Team to accomplish/complete ASC duties in alignment with other

units, the Division of Academic Affairs, and UNC.

• Other duties as assigned.
