SCHEDULE: Summer: Mon-Fri; Winter: Tue – Sat, (Nights/Weekends/Holidays, as needed)

SUMMARY

Work and play up in the mountains! Snowbird is looking for an experienced HR Systems Specialist to work for one of the most beautiful Ski & Summer Resorts in Utah. Under the direction of the HR Assistant Director, you will drive all HRIS systems’ entry, reporting, systems training, compliance and payroll support for the resort. Those with a sharp eye for details, have payroll or HRIS experience, enjoy driving efficiency through processes and love to work in the hospitality industry are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Maintaining employee records compliance through HRIS systems & partnering with corporate payroll to ensure accuracy of data transfer.
  • Training new and returning managers how to use the HRIS main functions to schedule, request changes, hires, terms and process time & attendance approvals.
  • Managing the payroll cycle of compliance with managers at Snowbird – ensuring they have all approved and processed payroll reports on time.
  • Combining local EIB reports into one report for corporate upload.
  • Ensuring all new and changed deductions are entered into the system in a timely manner and are accurate.
  • Reviewing all manager & employee requests for accuracy and approving payroll process.
  • Ensuring compliance with all new hire documentation, including I-9 forms, handbook acknowledgements, comp/tipping policies are up to date and in the system of record.
  • Developing, documenting, and maintaining all current and new HRIS business process workflows for efficiency and compliance.
  • Completing accurate bi-annual audits on I-9 & E-Verify compliance.
  • Partnering with cross-functional team members locally and Corporate HR HRIS-related issues/enhancements/queries.
  • Requesting new position codes, manager access, admin access, organization reporting changes to Corporate HR, when needed.
  • Send manager communication to inform, assist and get completion of cyclical tasks, such as payroll, reviews, comp requests, etc.
  • Drive annual and end of season review process completion for seasonal & annual cycles.Report output and analyze data to determine manager completion & needs.
  • Ensure reconciliation of department billing for UTA (Utah Transportation – Rideshare vehicles), nametags, fringe taxes for R&R, and other like charges, monthly.
  • Requesting and following through with special check requests for payroll adjustments, involuntary terms, garnishments, bonuses and other special payment needs.
  • Designing, maintaining and administering ad hoc report writing tools for end users; training and assisting users of those ad hoc report writing tools.Providing managers with systems access & reports as requested – managed by our Corporate HR team.
  • Working with Corporate HR and Snowbird Finance teams to run local compensation, payroll compliance, EEO reports for exemption classification, gender equality, benefit & 401(k) annual reports.
  • Build & manage online data re: employee policies, perks, privileges, new benefit information, and other hot topics on our internal HR webpage.
  • Assist HR team with seasonal meetings, including orientations, kick-off meetings and training meetings upon request.Assist with HR front desk duties from time to time, when requested.Assist with other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • High School Diploma plus 3+ years experience, as listed below, is required.Associates or Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred along with 3+ years’ experience in one or more of the following areas is required: HRIS Systems, Finance, Payroll, and/or IT.Knowledge of payroll laws and administrative HR laws around compensation and EEO is required.
  • Detail and process-oriented leader, able to partner with non-technical customers and partners to understand user needs and translate needs into technical requirements.
  • Strong mathematical, finance, problem solving/analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be 21+
  • Technology & systems-based thinker with hands-on experience in large HRIS platforms is required.Preferred experience with Workday.
  • Proven ability to protect the privacy and confidentiality of employee information.
  • Highly proficient in Outlook platforms (cloud based).Highly proficient with Excel, report writing, managing data and building technology-based solutions within the HR area.
  • Able to work independently and with a team.Flexible to transition from typical desk work to assisting with HR Team needs, when necessary.
  • History of leading with positivity, especially around change, systems change and working in a matrix.Ability to communicate in a kind, respectful and encouraging manner is required.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays on occasion, when payroll timing or seasonal demands require adjustment.
  • Location – this position will primarily work from our Millrock offices but may be requested to work from Snowbird Center at times, depending on business needs.
