Description:

BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Nucor Steel Gallatin is seeking qualified candidates for the position of HR & Talent Manager to lead all Human Resources functions for the Division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Benefits: Oversees benefits (medical/dental, flexible spending accounts, vision, life, disability, 401k retirement savings plan, EAP, wellness initiatives, onsite medical clinic) and FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA administration.
  • Compensation/Payroll: Oversees weekly payroll administration and attendance tracking.
  • Employee Relations: Handles division-wide communication, responds to teammate and manager concerns, assists with investigations, provides counsel/guidance regarding policies/procedures, and organizes company functions.
  • Recruiting/Employment: Oversees recruiting of full-time teammates, student employment programs, & terminations in accordance with legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Training/Development: Oversees division-wide training activities, and assists with teammate development.
  • Public/Community Relations: Oversees community support activities and advertising.
  • Participates in developing/implementing strategic plans to meet objectives

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Three years leadership experience
  • Five years human resources experience
  • No relatives currently employed at Nucor Steel Gallatin

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • SAP/SuccessFactors or HRIS software experience
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification
