Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Advisor to play a crucial role within the FLINT team. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for defining and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environment policies and practices across all company activities. Your primary focus will be on-site safety, leading and supporting safety activities and initiatives.
As the HSE Advisor, you will actively resolve safety issues, conduct compliance assessments, review incident reports, and maintain safety-related documentation. Your expertise in safety management systems and exceptional communication skills will make you an invaluable asset in delivering safety messages, facilitating safety meetings, and interacting with both clients and FLINT team members.
With a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety advisor position and the ability to handle up to 75 people per shift, you will excel in this role. Join us on a permanent full-time basis in Fort McMurray, and enjoy a supportive work environment and attractive perks!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the safety activities and initiatives undertaken within FLINT.
  • Promote and ensure safety compliance in all areas of responsibility and actively resolve safety issues or concerns.
  • Reviewing accident/ incident reports for correctness and completeness.
  • Conduct periodic checks to assess compliance with FLINT’s HSE standards.
  • Evaluating inspection reports to identify unsatisfactory performance trends.
  • Preparing monthly safety performance statistics and circulating them to line management.
  • Issuing and circulating environmental/ safety literature to enhance and maintain awareness.
  • Support Field Injury reports and forward copies to the HSE Program Coordinator/ WCB Administrator promptly.
  • Monitor and support investigation reports, environmental incident reports, medical or first aid cases and reports of damage to property or equipment to verify that corrective action has been completed.
  • Actively participates in leadership site safety reviews and worksite observation.
  • Ensure submissions and follow-ups are completed and documented within requested timeframes per company standards.
  • Complete with quality, all key performance indicators (KPIs) listed on the corporate KPI matrix and the area additions. Report and document as required.
  • Audit competency training.
