Description:
OVERVIEW
The HSEQ Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that the company meets its quality, health and safety, and environmental objectives. The successful applicant will be ensuring compliance with all in-house and regulatory compliance requirements to ensure the safety of the company’s people and properties.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and/or experience:
- A diploma, degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety – candidates working towards a relevant degree/qualification will also be considered.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a QHSE role – experience in the offshore wind/gas/oil sector preferred but not essential.
- Experience and understanding of offshore regulations including MARPOL, SOLAS and HSE offshore guidelines.
- Experience in offshore risk assessments, safety audits and incident investigations.
- Knowledgeable and familiar with Permit to Work (PTW) and managing offshore work activities including lifting operations, bunkering, confined spaces, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of vessel ISM compliance and SMS.
- NEBOSH General Certification.
- Certified Internal Auditor (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification) and experience with other Occupational Health and Safety systems including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing the HSEQ of company operations and ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of machinery, tools, ladders, and lifting equipment.
- Continually monitor and audit of compliance with procedures and quality output – facilitate training and development of colleagues as needed.
- Conduct internal quality and safety audits to ISO:9001, 14001, 45001 standards.
- Proactively identify, minimise, and mitigate the risk of accidents to persons, property and the environment.
- Conduct risk assessments including COSHH, Manual Handling, DSE and other assessments.
- Ensure high standards of HSEQ consistent with the company ways of working are in place for all activities undertaken by teams.
- Conduct offshore risk assessments, safety audits and incident investigations – ability to carry out Root Cause Analysis, identify corrective and preventative measures and monitor effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Manage and maintain the company’s quality, health and safety, and environmental systems.
- Create and maintain SOPs for process activities.
- Support the company’s waste management activities to minimise impact to environment.
