About the role
Balfour Beatty are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join our Team at the Sizewell C project.
The HSE Manager will support and promote delivery of theUK and Group Zero Harm Action Plans, partnering with the Operations Lead to ensure compliance with the health, safety, environmental and sustainability requirements of the UK Business Management System (BMS).
What you’ll be doing
- Fully understand and implement the Balfour Beatty UK and Rail HSE Strategy
- Contribute to the implementation, delivery and review of the SBU/ BU Zero Harm Action Plan and Bridging the Gap Plan at contract level
- Support the delivery of the HS&W Key Performance Indicators at regional level
- Support work winning teams with quality & innovative HS&W responses for bids, proposals and PQQs
- Provide robust HS&W Leadership – demonstrating a strong partnering ethos across the area of operations
- Provide expert support to investigate accidents, incidents and near miss events in accordance with Balfour Beatty Group Standards and BMS Requirements
- Produce formal reports using the Project Portal to record planned, unplanned and targeted HS&W inspections which review performance against the UK HS&W Regulatory Framework & UK Business Management System (BMS) requirements
- Support and enable Design and Engineering Teams (External & Internal) to recognise risks and opportunities to implement the Principles of Prevention and Health and Safety By Design through all Phases of the Gated Lifecycle
- Deliver on-going approved HS&W Technical Training to meet the contracts requirements
- Support and maintain a constant focus on the behavioural safety programme
