Description:
Treesa Builders is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer to join our Vancouver team. This role is vital to promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with safety standards across our construction sites. REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HSE Officer, preferably in construction or a related industry.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to conduct training sessions and write detailed reports.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct on-site inspections, which may involve walking, climbing, or standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety regulations and company policies are adhered to on construction sites, identifying any areas of non-compliance and implementing corrective actions.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors, covering topics such as emergency procedures, equipment usage, and site safety protocols.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, or near-misses on site, documenting findings, determining root causes, and implementing preventive measures.
- Safety Audits: Perform regular safety audits and inspections to ensure equipment, tools, and materials meet safety standards, and report findings to management with recommendations for improvement.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential incidents, and coordinating with local emergency services as necessary.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, incident reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- PPE Management: Oversee the distribution, usage, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all personnel are properly equipped.
- Environmental Protection: Promote environmental stewardship on construction sites by enforcing guidelines on waste disposal, pollution control, and sustainable practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with HSE regulations and industry standards, applying best practices to continually improve site safety.
