Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a HSEQ Assistant who will be supporting the WSM Kuala Lumpur Team HSEQ. The role needs to provide support to the HSEQ & Marine Assurance activities within WSM KL LNG/LPG Group. Reports to Head of HSEQ and has interrelations with Fleet Managers, Vessel Managers, HSEQ Managers/Superintendents, GHSEQ, Ship Masters, Internal and External Audit Bodies, Flags and Class Bodies. Other internal and external support functions, class society, oil majors and other external bodies.

Location: Menara 1 Sentral - Kuala Lumpur
Report to: Head of HSEQ

What You’ll Responsible For:

  • Maintain data of vessels particulars as per Oil Majors’ requirements and submits in case of changes - at least monthly.
  • Assist in arranging vetting inspection as advised by Department head / Vessel Manager.
  • Maintains and updates records of inspections performed by Oil companies. Records all observations noted during the inspections.
  • Alerts department with due dates of vetting inspections.
  • Updates and files various vessel’s questionnaire in Office, ready for submission to Oil majors.
  • Maintains vessels’ vetting status sheet updated for each Owner.
  • Maintains data on all Sire observations and corrective action - and sends information exchange as directed.
  • Prepares Check lists as per VIQ for Vetting preparation by Ship Staff as directed.
  • Updates reports in Q88 website and other industry and oil major websites in consultation with Group.
  • Updates Officer matrix in OCIMF/CDI at specified frequency.
  • Assists in vessel takeover / handover / flag change procedures.
  • Maintain statistics and generate periodic reports and trending for audit and inspection and SIRE/CDI findings.
  • Assist in arranging shipboard external audits/inspections and office internal/external audits.
  • Assist in monitoring the implementation and responses from vessels to various HSEQ/GHSEQ activities and initiatives.
  • Assist in preparation of investigation reports.
  • Monitors and assist in arranging unannounced drug and alcohol testing onboard vessels.
  • Assist in follow up and closure of Audit and inspection findings.

What Experience and Skills Required:

  • Appreciation of Shipping Industry, preferably with HSEQ Background.
  • Knowledge of Company Applications.
  • Good Computer and Software Skills.
  • Good Communication Skills.
