KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or
- Advanced degree
- Requires broad management knowledge and experience to lead project teams in multiple job areas.
- Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or
professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
JOB EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience with a bachelor’s degree or
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience with advanced degree.
- Experience in leadership role within medical devices or related industry
- Experience building and leading high-performance teams toward high impact results
- Experience working in a matrix organization preferred.
- Experience working with decision makers at multiple levels of healthcare institutions,
government authorities and advocacy groups.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Solid knowledge of the Canadian health care System, dynamics, and current issues of provincial government.
- Exceptional team building, team leading and team player skills
- Strong collaboration & communication skills for working with multiple internal & external stakeholders.
- Ability to design and lead processes that drive multiple stakeholders and competing interests toward outcomes that are mutually beneficial and better than any one party could have come up with on their own.
- Ability to form and maintain a broad network of relationships of key stakeholders.
- Ability to assess, analyze and condense complex data or situations trends, issues and opportunities for actions and responses.
- Ability to deliver complex information and to engage people behind strategies and decisions.
- Understanding of policy making process, healthcare stakeholders and institutions.
- Deep understanding of and passion for Medical Device business with capacity to learn about multiple products & their benefits to the health care system.
- Track record of turning ideas into results.
- Strong strategic selling and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated ability to function at high level of integrity in people and business management practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and marketing skills.
- Innovative and creative agent of change.

- Experience in leading a new clinical approach to care in a complex system.

- Experience with similar role in other companies.

- General understanding of health technology assessment processes that relate to Medtronic therapies.
- Market access & market development skills and experience.
- SAMA Certified
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple corporate, business unit and customer agendas.
- Advanced presentation skills.
- Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant software programs.
- Strong financial acumen – pricing, rebates, healthcare economic impacts.
- Experience in a matrixed, multi-line business environment.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Travel extensively within assigned region, and other travel mostly within Canada.
- Attend business /sales meetings and select international Health Care conferences.
