Your Opportunity:
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing team are trusted advisors and subject matter experts providing governance, systems and support which enable and empower our people. We are currently on a mission to make Urban Utilities the leader in safety amongst our fellow industry peers and we are seeking a passionate Health, Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator to join the Enabling & Support Team, to support the business on this journey. This role is currently a fixed term opportunity until the end of June 2025.
Reporting to the Manager of HSW Enabling and Support, the Coordinator role will focus on organising, analysing and reporting data to enhance the team’s performance and service delivery to Urban Utilities. You will work with a dedicated team of professionals, overseeing, supporting and streamlining the administration of various safety-related data. By centralising these functions, this will enable our HSW Enabling Partners and Advisors to allocate more time to in-field activities.

Key accountabilities will include:
- Data management of various Safety Management System Platforms to ensure Registers etc are kept up to date and coordinate maintenance of the supporting documents (e.g. Investigation Reports, etc).
- Data collection and analysis - Work with the HSW Systems Team to provide monthly data summaries for the HSW Enabling Partners including trend identification etc.
- Administration - Produce, update and provide best practice support and training on complex MS documents, databases and other systems. Co-ordinate the support of committees and forums, including agendas, minutes & meetings, etc.
- Customer Service - Assisting with Hazard/Event Acknowledgement during Office Hours. Provide support and coordination for supporting the Safety System Volunteers – HSR’s, First Aiders, Fire Wardens, etc.
About You:
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or similar (or working towards)
- A genuine drive, motivation and passion for safety and being part of a broader team working towards a common goal.
- Experience in Health and Safety systems support within a highly regulated high-risk industry (desirable).
- The ability to build effective relationships, working collaboratively with a high level of communication interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience in the use and development of Health and Safety risk, compliance and assurance systems and processes.
- Intermediate to advanced level skill in the application of Microsoft Office Suite (inc. SharePoint) and Business Improvement Software.
