Description:

Do you possess a deep understanding of user experience (UX) design, design thinking, and user-centered methodologies that can help modernize the management of acquisitions using Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles? Nimbus seeks a skilled and experienced HCD Subject Matter Expert (SME) who can conduct research, work with cross-functional teams, and organize/facilitate workshops.

Position Description: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Human-Centered Design Subject Matter Expert (HCD SME) to join our team. The HCD SME will provide strategic direction and expertise in human-centered design principles, practices, and methodologies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate human-centered design approaches into product development, service delivery, and organizational processes to ensure user satisfaction and drive innovation. The candidate should be able to help modernize the tools/tasks used by federal staff in the acquisition process. Assist in developing a proof of concept on how best to modernize the management of acquisitions using HCD principles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A total experience of TEN years or more delivering, consulting, and other professional services to federal and private sector clients
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • THREE years or more working as a Business Analyst or HCD expert

Responsibilities:

  • Bring subject matter expertise in user experience (UX) design, design thinking, and user-centered methodologies in Acquisitions, Contracts, and Budgeting discussions.
  • Interview stakeholders and users, soliciting the requirements from the perspective of HCD principles.
  • Work as a dynamic information radiator that allows stakeholders to see how money is spent across the Lines of Businesses, Value Streams, and/or Care Settings.
  • Bring HCD perspectives that enable senior leadership to make data-driven decisions based on real-time and historical data.
  • Assist in developing a proof of concept on how best to modernize the management of acquisitions using HCD principles.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and share responsibilities with Agile SME
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in the context of the services
  • Assist in writing and forming long-term acquisition strategies
  • Work with team to document and develop a proof concept for modernizing acquisition management using broad agency-wide approved tools and licenses
  • Develop reporting requirements and establish tracking matrices
  • Soft skills for managing customer and internal relationships
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including a proven ability to explain complex HCD concepts to senior business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to effectively drive people, process, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, and consulting skills
