ABOUT US
The finance department is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely financial reporting for Ivey Business School at Western University (IBS), including but not limited to the accurate processing and reporting of salaries and benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- 3 year Community College Diploma
- Payroll certificate from a recognized community college completed or in progress is preferred
Experience:
- 4 years of experience as a payroll and benefits administrator, assisting with human resource functions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices
- Familiarity with payroll related legislation (e.g. Employment Standards Act, RRSP, EI, CPP, Tax, EHT, WSIB)
- Competency to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion
- Communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Verbal and written communication skills to translate information into easily understood terms, summarize information, and provide a rationale for action
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to process information with a high degree of accuracy, and follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
- Ability to understand, interpret, and effectively communicate University guidelines, policies and practices
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills to complete accurate calculations
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Mature judgement to identify problems and to know when to refer to manager
- Proven ability to work independently, effectively and accurately in an interruptive, fast paced environment

Responsibilities:
The Human Resource Assistant (Payroll Administrator) ensures that the payments for staff and students including the contractor fees payable to individuals are processed accurately and issued to meet multiple deadlines. The role ensures accurate and timely financial results as well as ensures compliance to UWO policies and procedures.
