Job Title: Human Resource Consultant 3 (HRC3)
Location: Thurston County - Olympia, WA (Hybrid, with periodic in-office meetings)
Closes: August 26th, 2024
Salary: $5,501.00 - $7,400.00 Monthly.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Six (6) years of professional human resources experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business or public administration, human resources, or related field from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of professional human resource experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional experience providing consultation and administrative support within a Human Resources Office.
  • Six (6) months or more experience using NeoGov and HRMS.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR, or other professional HR certification.
  • Working experience in Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential, legally defensible, and sound senior-level consultation, advice, guidance, and support to DCYF staff.
  • Provide guidance to customers on interpretation and application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), federal and state law, civil service laws (WAC), and DCYF policies and best practices.
  • Analyze and advise appointing authorities, managers, and supervisors on employee conduct and performance, including consulting on investigations, discipline, and just cause.
  • Guide the processing of position establishments, recruitments, and onboarding new hires, including providing guidance on forms and benefits.
  • Consult with employees and supervisors on FMLA and shared leave-related issues.
  • Lead a lower-level HR consultant, including providing guidance, support, training, advice, and acting as their backup as needed.
  • Conduct training and coach staff on HR-related matters.
  • Attend and actively participate in periodic HR unit meetings and field operations team meetings
