SUMMARY:
The HR Director is responsible for overseeing the successful operations of the HR Department. The HR Director reviews employee data, investigates employee complaints and manages HR functions across the agency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; master’s degree preferred
- Experience
- At least five years of human resource management experience required
- Nonprofit experience, preferred
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Effective and clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and managerial skills to oversee the HR department and work with all employees within the company
- Project and time management skills
- Organizational skills
- Proven expertise solving problems
- Budget management skills
- Knowledge of computers to perform necessary tasks with common office and HR programs
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel requirements for the position includes 30% local and 10% non-local. Remaining 60% will be at work location for position.

Responsibilities:
- Monitors and ensures the organizations’ compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Collaborates with Senior Leadership to understand organizational goals and strategies related to staffing, recruitment, and retention.
- Assesses staffing needs and develops recruitment strategies to fill vacancies.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and supervises staff in Human Resources department.
- Facilitates and handles employee relations and performance issues to include conducting Human Resources related investigations and advises management on employee grievances.
- Works with Senior Leadership to develop and manage the Human Resources department budget.
- Develops compensation plans and conducts compensation analysis.
- Designs training programs and coordinates and/or facilitates of training opportunities/employee development.
- Manages the daily workflow of the HR department.
- Explains and provides information on employee benefits, insurance, retirement, programs, and education.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Administration Officer.
