How you make a difference:
The HR Generalist is responsible for professionally managing, planning, and communicating various human resources programs, policies, and procedures. This multifaceted role encompasses diverse functional areas such as employee relations, training, labor relations, staffing, compensation, benefits, workers’ compensation, and affirmative action and employment equity programs. A strong command of EEOC, ADA, and Federal and State labor laws is essential to ensure compliance with TJC, AHCA, DCF contract requirements, and alignment with company goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive HR records, including personnel transactions, in the HRIS system, and serve as the internal HRIS expert, handling special projects as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies by managing both Employee Personnel Files and Contractor files, actively addressing any issues or discrepancies.
  • Oversee various HR functions, including payroll audits, performance appraisals, and Workers’ Compensation claim reporting, acting as a liaison with the corporate office and working closely with department heads to ensure compliance.
  • Generate a variety of HR-related reports on a regular basis and serve as a backup to HR staff, including the ability to perform Training Manager duties as required.
  • Participate in employee relations activities, contribute to departmental goals and objectives, represent HR on hospital committees, and actively engage in HR-sponsored events and programs while maintaining accurate nursing personnel schedules and addressing staffing issues as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or equivalent Human Resources experience preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a Human Resources capacity required, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Must possess knowledge of recruitment, hiring, retention, benefits, compensation, scheduling and training.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) certification, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred.
