Job Description
The Human Resources Manager will support the full scope of HR responsibilities and day-to-day activities including HR initiatives, benefits/payroll/compensation functionality, employee relations/engagement, recruitment support, performance management, team development, and ensuring adherence to company’s policies and procedures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Human Resources
- Advise management in areas of employment, policies, and regulations.
- Manage all HR systems including HRIS, benefits, recruitment, and payroll.
- Navigate ambiguous/complex/sensitive issues and promote conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations and appropriately document employee relations issues regarding employment practices.
- Support performance management process by fully communicating information and providing training, coordination and follow up when necessary.
- Facilitates onboarding, compliance training, HR policies and procedures communication, and management development training
- Promote a culture of inclusion and engagement
Payroll
- Ensures timely, accurate submission and processing of payroll for multiple entities.
- Manages bi-weekly payroll process that includes importing, proofing, editing, processing, and transmitting all payroll wages, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, commissions, and manual payments consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Conducts reconciliations, reviews, and audits of payroll and timekeeping related records.
- Manages and maintains payroll systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
Recruitment
- Post job opportunities, oversee hiring process, schedule interviews, attend interviews as needed, manage applicant flow, order background reports, etc. Follow-up on hiring decisions and HR onboarding processes in HRIS and coordinate onboarding experience with HR team and hiring manager.
- Work with Hiring Managers on full-cycle recruitment initiatives.
Benefits
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of benefit programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plan, PTO). Serve as liaison to Finance regarding payroll and benefit related questions and issues and payroll deduction reconciliations. Work with employees to answer benefit questions and assist in processing life events and open enrollment elections.
- Ensure compliance of state and federal regulations related to employment such as FLSA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, etc.
- Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation and unemployment statements
- Act as liaison between employees and insurance providers and resolves benefits-related issues
- Research, resolves, or escalates issues related to payroll, vacation, leave, and / or benefits
- Administration of employee leave (FMLA, medical leaves, military leaves) and coordination of STD and LTD benefits if applicable.
- Perform additional duties, tasks or special projects as assigned by the CEO.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS degree in business-related field. Agricultural background and/or work experience preferred
- Five or more years of experience in generalist role, 1 year in manager role preferred
- Stable and consistent work history
- Experience supporting a fast-growing company preferred
- Small business experience that required you to solve uncharted problems and wear many hats
- High Proficiency in Excel, spreadsheets/formulas
- Communicates efficiently, to all levels of people
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
