SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The People First Generalist (HR Generalist) at Secure is responsible for a multi-state operation. The Generalist must embrace our core values and culture and be effective in communication, people relations, policies & procedures, state & federal labor laws, and influencing desire results. The PF Generalist will report to the Manager of People First and will work with other members of the PF team to ensure people and business initiatives are implemented consistently across our organization. The PF Generalist will be assigned to internal client groups and projects with the expectation of managing all aspects of human resources activities.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Knowledge of working in a multi-state company.
  • Payroll knowledge as it relates to recordkeeping and timesheets as the law requires.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Process improvement experience is strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years of generalist experience.
  • The ability to lead by example and be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate with MS Office.
  • Must be confident, committed and lead by example.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State labor laws.
  • Some management experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Sitting for prolonged periods of time. • Lifting up to 10 lbs. may be required

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure you uphold and demonstrate the company core values at all times.
  • Creating and or streamlining processes that will help with the efficiency of the department.
  • Being proactive with regards to processes, policies, laws, and all HR related activities.
  • Present yourself in a professional, organized manner that conveys confidence.
  • Oversee the hiring process for staff including recruitment of qualified staff.
  • SME in the onboarding of new hires and consultants
  • Overseeing the performance management process and working directly with Managers

from other departments. Includes coaching, annual evals, PIP’s and progressive discipline.

  • Provide support and consultation to supervisors and managers on employee relations.

Issues and concerns.

  • Ensure HR compliance regarding state and federal labor laws.
  • Reporting, reviewing, and closing investigations within 7-10 business days.
  • SME in company policies and handbook, enforce company policies.
  • Manage benefits- medical, 401K, voluntary plans, and reporting.
  • Manager Leaves, FMLA, PFL, ADAA- medical related.
  • Assist with employee engagement events.
  • Expert Time management and Leader standard work
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and be an effective communicator.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Become a SME in HRIS, ATS and other software used at Secure
  • Proactively Identify the needs for employee learning and development.
  • SME in HR filings examples EEOC, DOL, AAP
  • Fill in for People First team includes Credentialing, HR, and Recruiting as needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate information/responses to emails and employee requests
  • Assist with recruiting needs for upper management positions
  • Proactive with reporting -Head count, end of quarter, end of month, end of year

regarding - hires, turnover, benefit enrollment, cobra, 401K

  • Other duties as assigned.
