SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively deal with all clients and internal/external contacts
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to accuracy and efficiency, attention to detail
  • Intermediary Microsoft Office and Adobe skills are required; experience in PeopleSoft would be an asset
  • Ability to deal with distractions in a positive, courteous and professional manner at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an office environment, preferably in a HR office or post-secondary setting
  • Related post-secondary education would be an asset
    Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
    Remuneration: $44,643.30 - $ 59,144.28 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Job Code Description).

Responsibilities:

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION WHERE YOU WILL WORK PREDOMINATELY MON TO FRI 8:00 AM TO 4:30 PM.

This part-time position provides HR administrative support for the Human Resources Operations team. Our successful candidate will be an organized multi-tasker who understands confidentiality, has a great sense of humor and enjoys a fast-paced office environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Professionally respond to telephone and walk-in customer inquiries when covering up for receptionist
  • Monitor general HR Outlook mailbox and forward emails appropriately
  • Process/distribute all incoming and outgoing office mail/couriers
  • Partial cover off for HR Advisors
  • Provide administrative support to HR/Payroll staff including processing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, etc.
  • Maintain electronic employee files
  • Process employee file requests from Legal
  • Update employee training in PeopleSoft
  • Track/process employee dependent scholarship applications
  • Update HR Directories as changes to HR personnel or roles occur, and update the NAIT Staff Portal
  • Maintain office equipment inventory tracking spreadsheet
  • Assist HR Executive Assistant as required
  • Other tasks as assigned
