Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Administrator
provides support for Human Resources in duties such as attendance tracking, timekeeping,
personnel files and records, health and safety and office administration. The Human Resources
Administrator works closely with the Health and Ability Claim Coordinator, supporting where
required. Additionally, the Human Resources Administrator assists with day-to-day
administrative duties to ensure adequate member focused delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of college diploma in Human Resources or related field equivalent.
  • Minimum two to three years of experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency in computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF Software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation (Human Rights Code of Ontario, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety, and Insurance Act).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality within the Branch, ensuring the protection of privacy of all personnel and applicants.

SKILLS:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Human Resources practices and applicable legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation and/or presentation skills.
  • Proven organizational, time management and motivational skills.
  • Organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and part of a team.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy with a large volume of work.

    Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - (8) eight - hour days.
    Rate of Pay: $29.69 - $37.22 / hour.

Responsibilities:

HUMAN RESOURCES DUTIES

  • Act as a point of contact within the Human Resources Branch welcoming members to the unit and directing members to resources and answering questions when required.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes for Committee Meetings, such as
  • Civilian Job Selection, Health and Safety.
  • Respond to Human Resources inquiries from internal members, as well as external requests for information.
  • Prepare correspondence as requested.
  • Maintain calendar of key dates.
  • Participate in any ongoing Human Resources projects and various other duties, as required, to assist in maintaining branch efficiency.
  • Assist with issuing access cards and identification cards to all new personnel and external vendors.
  • Assist when required in the coordination and facilitation of testing, interviews, and the background process during the recruitment and selection process with the Talent Acquisition and Retention Coordinator.
