Matrix Design Group, Inc., an employee-owned engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firm is actively seeking a mid-level Human Resources Administrator for our Denver office. We are looking to add a teammate with a positive outlook who loves engaging with colleagues and strives to provide the highest level of service to others. The ideal candidate will have direct HR experience with employee engagement, new employee orientation and onboarding, and benefits support.
This is a full-time position with a hybrid work arrangement. The HR Administrator will be required to be in the downtown Denver office a minimum of three days per week (ECO Pass provided) and will be required to travel to the Lone Tree office at least monthly. Training will require travel to the Colorado Springs office.

Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour. The expected starting salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual experience, qualifications, and education.
Summary: The Human Resources Administrator assigned to the Denver office is an HR Generalist and supports corporate and site-specific human resources functions. This position will also be an extension of the local office management and administrative team providing back up and assistance with general office support as needed. The Human Resources Administrator will be assigned as the primary team member responsible for specific HR responsibilities and as the back-up for other functions and is expected to have a general knowledge of all functions of the department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct HR experience to include new employee orientation, benefits administration or support, employee engagement, and supporting supervisors with personnel issues. Note that this is not a recruiting position and recruiting experience without the above additional experience will not meet the minimum requirement.
  • Minimum or three (3) years of HR experience in a professional services environment, AEC industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • High school diploma required, degree in HR or related field a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR requirements.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Cultivate a positive and welcoming work environment through superior customer service to employees and facilitating/participating in various employee engagement initiatives.
  • Establish a good rapport with employees to create a positive and comfortable association with HR.
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO) for Denver and Lone Tree hires. Provide back up to other locations.
  • Coordinate with third-party IT provider to facilitate new employee IT onboarding and terminated employee offboarding.
  • May assist with accurately entering new hires, terminations, promotions, and other employee changes into payroll/HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) and accounting system (Unanet).
  • Update hires and terminations list.
  • Provide day-to-day support for employee questions regarding HR issues.
  • Administer 3-, 6- and 9-months surveys and interviews for new hires.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Send out monthly performance review reminders to supervisors.
  • Assist with enrollment of benefits for new hires and open enrollment administration.
  • Support HR projects such as continuous improvement initiatives and new program development and administration.
  • Generate reports as scheduled or requested ad hoc from ADP and Unanet.
  • Provide HR updates in monthly Denver office staff meetings.
  • Provide back-up to Executive Administrator of Ops with ECO pass administration.
  • Create and/or maintain operating procedures for all performed functions.
  • Provide quarterly employee roster to IT.
  • Participate in company-wide committees.
  • Provide occasional administrative support to HR leadership or corporate leadership team members.
  • Assist with general office administration duties as needed.
