Description:

The Employee Relations Advisor provides a professional support service to managers on general operational issues such as terms and conditions of service, sickness absence management, performance management, conduct and disciplinary investigations, harassment & bullying complaints, and grievances. Implement and embed new strategies and initiatives throughout the organisation. This role will support both Medical and Non-Medical employees of the organisation.

Ensure that advice and assistance to managers on staff-related operational issues such as flexible working, maternity, adoption, paternity, employment breaks, annual leave and sickness absence is of a timely, accurate and professional nature.
Act as first point of contact for ER advice to managers across the full range of employee relations relating to both Agenda for Change and Medical and Dental.
Deputise for the Head of Employee Relations and Wellbeing and contribute to Clinical and Corporate Business Unit meetings as required.
Provide assistance to the Head of Employee Relations and Wellbeing in the management of change issues and contribute as necessary to formal consultation exercises as part of the organisational change initiative.
Advise managers on all aspects of the pay banding and job evaluation process.
Lead on discrete projects involving both medical and non-medical workforce.
Analyse workforce information reports, e.g. sickness reports, to highlight trends and provide practical solutions to facilitate timely resolution.
To support managers and provide professional advice in preparing relevant management statements of case for internal formal case hearings.
To support the wider HR team with duties.

CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate in HR Management (formerly Graduate), or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience
Previous experience of working in a busy HR environment
Experience of participating in formal HR meetings
Understanding or relevant legislation, e.g. employment law, data protection plus HR knowledge acquired through relevant training and experience to degree equivalent level
Experienced and proficient in the use of the Microsoft packages
including Excel, Powerpoint and Word
Ability to analyse complex information and make appropriate recommendations amongst a range of facts
The ability to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the job role
Able to sit frequently in a restricted position when undertaking administration dutie
