Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resource (HR) Assistant assists the local HR teams for assigned location(s) or functional area with new hire orientation, management of employee records, compliance with laws and regulations, HR audits, etc. This position facilitates all key HR functions and programs as needed by the local HR team.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • HS Diploma/GED and 0 to 1 plus years of Human Resources and/or data entry/administrative experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent follow up and follow through skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive and professional mindset
  • Ability to demonstrate trust, confidentiality and good judgement
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to learn HR systems quickly
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Travel up to 10%
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with HR Information Systems, Timekeeping Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, i.e., UltiPro, iCIMS, Kronos, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of workers compensation and leaves administration
  • SAP experience
  • Experience interacting with all levels of an organization
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new hire orientation
  • Coordinate onboarding tasks as needed
  • Process employee workflows
  • Provide support with employee questions i.e., payroll, benefits, etc.
  • Maintain all employee files i.e., medical, I-9, worker’s compensation, legal, etc.
  • Maintain Compliance boards in assigned location(s) or functional area, HR dashboards, etc.
  • Support unemployment claims, workers compensation, disability forms, etc.
  • Engage in HR Workstream projects, community outreach, employee engagement, etc.
  • Provide cross-functional HR support for multiple departments as applicable based on assigned location (s) or functional area
  • Provide support to business partners, i.e., compensation information, attendance records, corrective action reports, etc.
  • Provide support with HR Audits and projects for local HR team ensuring data integrity
  • Other projects or duties as assigned
