About this Role:

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Potelco, a leading utility construction company, is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Sumner, WA. As part of the HR department, you will play a crucial role maintaining our HR records, processes, supporting our Senior HR Manager, and contributing to the overall success of Potelco. This is an on-site role with a dynamic and fast paced team, due to business needs this position will require some over-time hours to be worked.

This is an hourly role with a range of $30-$38/hour.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain employee personnel files, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Manage and maintain new hire inputs.
  • Regularly audit personnel files to ensure that we have all required documents and ensure accuracy of information.
  • Work closely with the Senior HR Manager to build and refine HR processes and policies, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Assist and educate employees on benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other related benefits.
  • Generate reports and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Other duties as regarded.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in human resources.
  • Ability to cross-collaborate and prioritize potentially conflicting priorities.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, and a sense of urgency on time-sensitive tasks.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Ambitious and results-driven.
  • Multi-state experience preferred.
  • Complex data entry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
