Description:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience in healthcare is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Associate’s degree or commensurate Human Resources work experience/education is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Assistant provides clerical and operational services in the Human Resources department.

  • May be subject to irregular hours.

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Human Resources Assistant must have the ability to move around freely, walk and stand for long periods of time; use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired; use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; bend or twist their body; understand the speech of another person and speak clearly so listeners can understand; and see details of objects that are less than a few feet away and at a distance

Responsibilities:

  • Functions under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Addresses all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintains and updates employee records and filing system.
  • Performs the entire hiring workflow from posting open positions, sending offer letters, scheduling and processing new hires’ paperwork/screenings and assisting with onboarding/orientation processes.
  • Produces and submits reports requested by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Assists with employee status change forms and termination paperwork.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Serves as back-up to the Human Resources Manager when the Manager is absent.
  • Assists with employee relations matters, investigations and the disciplinary process.
  • Helps interpret and educate staff on the Employee Handbook and HR policies and procedures.
  • Teach monthly orientation to new hires.
  • Executes all administrative HR tasks as assigned.
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices while having an understanding of HR functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
