Responsibilities:
SUMMARY OF PURPOSE
Assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties. This position provides support to the HRIS team processing employee data and maintaining HRIS systems. The employee is expected to work in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment.
TYPICAL DUTIES
This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required.
- Process paperwork related to all employees/temporary employees (new hire paperwork, pay load documents, addresses changes, etc.).
- Create electronic personnel/payroll file using information from applicant tracking system.
- Assist the HRIS team responsible for the HRIS system in developing salary schedules and wage adjustments for all employees, as well as support for mandatory reports, such as seniority reports, UIA, IPEDS filed with the State of Michigan, etc.
- Work with Financial Services to maintain data and follow proper procedures regarding employee payroll records.
- Understand the College position control process and provide support as needed.
- Responsible for responding in a timely manner to internal/external inquiries related to employees/applicants.
- Responsible for preparing immigration letters for TN Visa for employees.
- Attend meetings related to full-time/part-time faculty regarding processes/procedures, etc. (e.g. department chair meetings and administrative specialists/secretary meetings).
- Monitor all employees and follow best practices/procedures for onboarding/offboarding employees in the College’s HRIS system on a scheduled basis.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
