Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction and supervision, applies a consultative approach working with HR leadership and team members to collect, compile and analyze HR data, metrics and statistics. Applies data to make recommendations related to programs, policies, benefits, retirement, recruitment, retention and legal compliance. The HR Benefits & Compensation Analyst may be directly responsible for special projects and other areas in HR such as compensation, reporting, benefits analysis and financial/accounting responsibilities. Accountable for achieving and exceeding personal goals, contributing to the Team in support of the Credit Union’s services goals achievement.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING

  • Provides HR data analysis to HR leadership and HR associates by providing knowledge and managing work of moderate to high complexity.
  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll systems, compensation management systems, financial systems and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.
  • Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring and retention practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • This role involves conducting market research, participating in salary surveys, and developing competitive and equitable salary recommendations.
  • Conducting classification audits and creation or updating of job descriptions to ensure that jobs are properly documented and classified as exempt or nonexempt.

QUALIFICATION:

Experience/ Training/ Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) and 2-3 years of HR experience, or any similar combination of education and experience which would provide a thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or similar certification preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems and ADP or similar system preferred

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of local, state and federal regulations as they relate to Human Resources involving employment, HR, Benefits, Retirement and HR policies.
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including but not limited to Macros, VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
  • Proficient with analysis, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing and excellent telephone manner, with strong presentation skills
  • Requires excellent follow-through skills, member relations skills, and sound business judgment.
