ABOUT THE POSITION

Baker Newman Noyes (BNN) is seeking a dynamic and focused Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team. The HRBP will play a crucial role in partnering with business leaders to align the HR strategies with the firm’s goals and objectives. This individual will focus on advising and supporting businesses in the areas of performance management, leadership coaching, workforce planning, talent review & succession planning, career advancement, compensation and employee relations.

COMPETENCIES AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Collaborates with the People Operations Director to design, implement, and deliver a firm-wide performance management system to evaluate and enhance employee performance
  • Supports departments in establishing clear performance goals and objectives, delivering continuous feedback to employees, and promptly addressing performance issues
  • Supports leaders in conducting reviews to assess employee performance, potential, retention risks, and readiness for advancement
  • Collaborates with departments to create and cultivate robust succession plans and identify high-potential employees
  • Supports leaders in facilitating career development conversations, creating advancement plans, promoting internal mobility, and providing opportunities for employees to grow within the organization.
  • Provides guidance and support to leaders at all levels to boost their leadership capabilities
  • Coaches to improve the skills and effectiveness of managers and leaders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development
  • Analyzes and forecasts workforce needs, develop strategic plans to address gaps, recommend organizational design improvements and ensure alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives and vision
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting thorough investigations and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Provides guidance and support to departments on the delivery of compensation programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and market competitiveness
  • Demonstrates effective business acumen by understanding the organization’s strategic goals, market dynamics, and financial metrics, and effectively aligning HR initiatives to support business objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources or a business-related field
  • 5 years or more experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years in an HRBP role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal labor laws and Human Resources concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Effective oral/written communication with internal and external clients, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive employee issues confidentially
  • Effective skills with Human Resources Information Systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred
