Description:

TALENT MANAGEMENT

  • Recommends talent management and best practices that support the Health Unit’s strategic plan.
  • Provides full-cycle recruitment support, develops job descriptions, job postings, and supplementary materials for posting process.
  • Manages the selection process including developing assessments, screening, interviewing, reference checks and making recommendations in collaboration with hiring managers. Prepares documentation for hiring, including account information, letters of offer, contract extensions, and information required for payroll.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business Administration, Human Resources or relevant program, or Human Resources Management certificate, or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of Human Resources and Labour Relations experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Significant knowledge of current Human Resources issues and practices in a unionized public sector environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and experience of HRIS. Experience using ADP is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and address employee and policy issues and exercise sound and experienced judgment in providing advice and guidance, often in ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to achieve resolution.
  • Strategic thinker with proven negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to build trust, follows through, ensures people feel heard, acts with integrity
  • Strong teamwork ethic, team player and willing to provide and receive guidance and coaching to other team members.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner and set project and work timelines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to championing Brant County Health Unit’s Mission, Vision, and Values; and
  • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining the same standard.
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle access.
  • Required to have full COVID-19 immunization and are able to provide evidence of status.
    Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with BCHU Board of Health Administrative Policies and Procedures. Salary range: $79,861.60 - $93,475.20 annually. OMERS pension and a comprehensive Health and Dental benefits package.
