POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a champion of Rocketship’s mission, culture and values, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) partners with managers to promote a culture of high performance, retention, and inclusion. Reporting to the Director, HRBP, the service-oriented HRBP represents the strategic interests of the regions and schools they serve while ensuring fair and equitable support for every employee.
The following are essential functions related to the role:

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Field of study in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Business, or related preferred.
  • 5 years minimum experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Business, or related field required
  • 1 minimum HR Business Partner or Generalist experience required
  • SHRM-CP/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR preferred

  • Proficiency in working with HRIS systems and Google Suite technology

  • Ability to build trusting relationships, resolve conflicts and influence, including in cases without direct authority
  • Commitment to deliver excellent support to manager and staff needs, including timely resolution of issues
  • Excellent decision making and strategic problem solving skills, especially regarding risk management
  • Demonstration employee relations experience and strong working knowledge of HR functions, including but not limited to employment law (familiarity with California preferred), performance management, and compensation/pay practices, performance measures, change management, and labor relations
  • Results-oriented problem solver with proven ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and listening and probing for understanding and tailoring communications to varied audiences
  • Presence and self-awareness to serve as a cultural leader for a diverse staff, setting the tone for an inclusive, and welcoming workplace
