Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is the first point of contact for an assigned client group and will work proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders to provide strategic HR advice and business solutions that are grounded in HR best practice and aligned with the operational and strategic goals of the Hospital.
The HRBP is responsible for providing a full range of HR services in the areas of: employee and labour relations, recruitment, compensation & benefits, absence & disability management, and HRIS transactions.
The HRBP also serves as a champion for promoting and delivering HR programming and initiatives ensuring compliance with legislation, hospital policies and supporting a positive work environment for all employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred
- Three (3) years’ experience in human resources in a unionized healthcare environment preferred
- HRIS and ATS experience (e.g., Quadrant Workforce, QHRnet, Njoyn)
- Working experience navigating collective agreements and in accordance with any relevant legislation (Employment Standards Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Human Rights Code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act) with the ability to apply their intent to specific cases is an asset
- Knowledge of the principles of job evaluation and selection criteria
- Knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong administrative and data management skills
- Ability to raise issues pro-actively and in a timely manner
- Demonstrated advanced computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to make decisions, exercise judgment and take initiative in dealing with confidential information and/or in responding to inquiries
- Proven ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written English instructions
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent telephone etiquette and ability to share important information to the team, our patients, and community support partners in an accurate manner
- Superior interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and willingness to be flexible to meet department needs
