Description:

ZGF is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Seattle, WA office. The HR Business Partner will help build the capability and success of the firm by providing leadership and guidance to assigned client groups to drive a high-engagement culture and achieve operational excellence. This individual will apply an advanced generalist knowledge, as well as specialized expertise in talent management and HR operations, to drive firm priorities. This leader will also serve as a strategic member of the People + Culture (P+C) team with the opportunity to craft firmwide people priorities and lead change management initiatives.
This position will directly support approximately 260 employees in ZGF’s Seattle, WA; Denver, CO; and Vancouver, BC locations. This position will sit in Seattle, WA.

As an HR Business Partner, you will….

  • Partner with leaders in assigned client group(s) to drive people strategy including talent management, succession planning, performance management and workforce planning
  • Partner with leaders on the P+C team to support talent acquisition, total rewards and people ops strategies
  • Support the development and delivery of P+C strategy providing clear communication, implementation and measurement of key people initiatives/programs to support a high-performance culture
  • Work with managers to ensure that employee engagement and career development are top of mind when dealing with people initiatives
  • Promote an effective approach to performance management and development with managers, providing support with the creation and monitoring of goal setting, improvement and high-potential plans as needed
  • Manage sensitive workplace issues and conflicts, including performance issues and separations; lead internal investigations
  • Support the development, communication and implementation of P+C programs and initiatives to improve the employee experience; including leading presentations and training
  • Partner with the P+C team to proactively identify opportunities to improve policies, processes and procedures
  • Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in human resources
  • Knowledge of or dedication to learning Canadian employment law
  • Prior experience as an HR Business Partner preferred
  • Prior experience in the AEC industry or at a professional services firm preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification
  • Ability to work on-site 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday); option for remote work 1 day per week (Friday)
  • Ability to understand business priorities and develop new approaches, policies and procedures to meet these priorities
  • Ability to collaborate and build consensus with cross-functional teams to deliver results
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state and local regulations
  • Ability to manage change effectively, mindful of process and systems implications; experience leading change management initiatives preferred
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment; able to deal with ambiguity, as well as competing and shifting priorities
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to distill complex information
  • Advanced understanding of MS Office and other business applications required
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters and ability to use discretion as required
  • Knowledge of architectural / engineering terminology a plus, though not required
  • Travel required occasionally to build relationships with client group(s) estimated at approximately 10%
