Description:

At STELIA North America, we are offering a unique opportunity for a co-op student to launch their career in the aerospace and defense industry with this 3-month contract position beginning in January 2025! Join our Human Resources Team in beautiful Lunenburg, NS, and gain hands-on experience with an affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies. As a co-op student, you will be part of an aerospace and defense leader specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced composite components and assemblies. With over 150,000 sq feet of state-of-the-art facilities in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and Mirabel, Quebec, this role offers an immersive learning experience in a dynamic environment dedicated to innovation and excellence.
The HR Co-op Student will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources team by assisting with a variety of administrative tasks and important HR initiatives. This position involves actively contributing to the recruitment and selection process, as well as supporting employee engagement activities that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. The Co-op Student will ensure that all employee documentation is accurately completed and maintain up-to-date records within the HRIS and digital files. Additionally, they will manage essential administrative duties such as digital filing, scanning, and data entry, helping to keep our HR operations running smoothly.

In this role you will:

  • Recruitment and selection support, creating internal and external sourcing plans and job postings, screening candidates, preparing interview guides, and conducting background checks.
  • Helping to coordinate new employee orientations, prepare onboarding materials and paperwork.
  • Assist with facilitating new hire orientation and onboarding programs with new staff and leaders.
  • Support our Employee Events + Welcoming & Inclusive Workplace Program by supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction and workplace culture, including involvement in our engagement survey, helping build our annual calendar of events and developing internal communications.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and on internal drive, including a digital employee record conversion project.
  • Perform general administrative duties, such as filing, data entry, and responding to employee inquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A positive and proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
