POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced External Human Resources Consultant to join our team for a 1.5 year fixed contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing HR consulting services to clients in Whitecourt and High Level. Core aspects of this role include (but may not be limited to) administering a Human Resources information hub, creating resources to facilitate best practice implementation for local businesses, and providing tailored service plans to meet the unique HR needs of our clients. This role will require travel to Whitecourt and High Level to develop relationships within the business community and to offer HR support to existing clients.
This position takes place in-person at our Whitecourt or Edmonton office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is not required, but would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources consulting or a similar role, with a focus on serving clients in diverse industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian labour laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, particularly in Alberta.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful Human Resources strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Human Resources software and web portal administration.
  • A valid driver’s license, as the successful candidate will be expected to travel throughout the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Human Resources information hub, ensuring it is regularly updated to reflect client feedback and service requests.
  • Develop and implement tools and enhancement strategies for areas such as:
  • Recruitment and retention.
  • Compliance assistance (labour law).
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Policy development.
  • Training and development.
  • Employee benefits.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to employers on Human Resources best practices, labour laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proactively reach out to local employers to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific Human Resources needs and develop tailored service plans to address them.
  • Assist employers in optimizing their Human Resources processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and employee satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal developments related to Human Resources and labour laws.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for employers on various Human Resources topics as needed.
