Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
Are you passionate about creating exceptional employee experiences and supporting organizational success? The City of Maple Ridge is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team.
As a key contributor to our HR functions, you’ll provide coordination, administration, and support across diverse areas such as recruitment, total rewards, labour relations, training, and compliance. Working closely with departments and stakeholders, you’ll ensure the smooth implementation of HR programs and processes, enhancing both daily operations and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, from job postings to offers, and administer onboarding to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Total Rewards: Support job evaluations and educate employees on their comprehensive rewards packages.
- Labour Relations: Provide information and guidance on HR policies, collective agreements, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Training & Development: Organize and track employee training programs and assist in creating development materials.
- Data & Documentation: Maintain accurate HR records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with privacy standards.
- Special Projects: Contribute to diversity, wellness, and organizational development initiatives.
What You Bring:
- Solid understanding of HR principles, employment legislation, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to foster relationships across all levels.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to interpret policies, collective agreements, and corporate procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a certificate or diploma program in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related field supplemented by considerable experience in a Human Resources environment, preferably in a Unionized environment.
- Class 5 Driver’s License valid in the Province of British Columbia.
- CPHR designation preferred.
