As an ambassador and role model, The HR Coordinator will champion associate engagement, ensuring that our hotel remains a fantastic workplace for our associates. What you’ll do:
Administers full cycle recruitment including postings of vacant positions, pre-screening of candidates, scheduling of interviews, as well as completing reference checks and offer letters.
Handles all general inquiries of associates and assists with all day-to-day administrative functions of the department, while maintaining a welcoming, professional environment
Handle sensitive information with the utmost care, ensuring that all personal, company, and client data is protected from unauthorized access or disclosure. This includes adhering to data privacy regulations and company policies.
Prepares, coordinates, and distributes internal associate information creating open communication throughout the hotel.
Works with the HR Director to establish an effective communication channel between the company and all associates.
Collaborate and facilitate the preparation, coordination, and execution of employee programs and events, such as staff meetings, food festivals, annual picnics, holiday parties, Wellness Fairs, farewell parties, and community service projects, among others.
Welcomes all new hires through a smooth and seamless onboarding process.
Assists and facilitates with associate training programs including health & safety and new hire orientations as well as brand standards as required.
Corresponds with payroll and central finance offices regarding associate inquires and/or payroll related updates or changes.
Accurately maintains associate information in HRIS system including training records.
Partners with Colleges & Universities and other organizations, participates in career fairs in promoting Toronto Marriott City Centre as welcoming and supportive place of work.
Actively listens to associates to effectively exchange information and provide solutions as required.
Co-chairs the Joint health and Safety Committee.
Ensures the Health and Safety within the hotel is maintained with the necessary documents, reporting and updates as needed and required by law.
Assists with correspondence with associate and department managers regarding the Early Safe Return to Work Program for work and non-work-related injuries/illnesses; corresponds with WSIB as required for case management.
Follows company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
Follows property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
Other duties as assigned.
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and fosters a culture of respect and positivity.
Minimum of 2 year in a Human Resources role, with a focus on Associate Relations; experience working in a hotel preferred
Post-Secondary education and a degree/certificate in Human Resources Management
Holds and/or working towards the Certified Human Resources Professionals Designation (CHRP) is preferred.
Understanding of relevant legislation, such as Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act, AODA, and Ontario Human Rights Code, is beneficial.
Integrity and Ethical Conduct: Commitment to upholding integrity and ethical standards in all aspects of work, ensuring honesty, transparency, and fairness in all interactions and decisions.
Experience in payroll and benefits administration is an asset; familiarity with ADP Payroll system is also helpful.
Ability to interact effectively and respectfully with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
Flexible Availability: Willingness to work weekends as needed.
Teamwork and Independence: Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Communication Skills: Proficient in verbal and written communication.
Organizational and Planning Skills: Strong organizational abilities, including researching and planning.
Computer Proficiency: Competent in using software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
