Description:

Harbor is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. The Human Resources Coordinator performs diversified human resources duties and facilitates efficiency and organization of internal processes related to HR. This role often serves as the first point of engagement with employees and visitors in the Canadian office and beyond and is responsible for making a positive first impression for the Company. The ideal candidate thrives is a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated and is seeking growth and professional development in the field of HR. This position will work from our Moncton, NB office in Canada. This is a full-time position with approximately 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Adaptability and resilience to balance short-term and long-term priorities.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • High degree of professionalism with confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong social media skills relevant to recruiting and onboarding.
  • Strong technical applications skills including HRIS, Microsoft Office360 with high proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Interest and ability to be flexible in a fast-changing environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least one year of related experience within Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides exceptional customer service to employees and leaders.
  • Promotes and models Harbor’s company values.
  • Maintains electronic files for all employees in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Processes new hires, including paperwork, HRIS, files, notifying payroll, providing support for on-boarding plans, and coordinating exit interviews and deprovisioning for terminated team members.
  • Administers health and retirement plans including enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Handles event planning including Employee Appreciation events and other employee engagement initiatives.
  • Handles the administration of employee award program activities including the spot, values and anniversary awards.
  • Processes unemployment and workers compensation claims.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Coordinates local health and safety requirements including committee meetings, trainings, building compliance and reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
