Description:

HR Coordinator 240 Days- FLSA-Exempt
Job Goal: To provide smooth and efficient operation of the Human Resources Department that will enable the school system personnel to provide quality education for all children.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in Human Resources employment services. Prior successful experience in human resources in the educational setting strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, education or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local human resource laws, rules, and regulations; knowledge of Georgia Professional Standards Commission procedures, rules and regulations to include certification and professional qualified requirements; knowledge of Georgia school laws and local school district policies and procedures; and familiarity of current trends and best practices in all assigned areas.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment in decision-making.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when dealing with sensitive personnel issues.
  • Experience with MUNIS preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prompt and regular attendance
  • Assists with annual certification renewal; responds to questions about the certification process and certification rules.
  • Assits with worker’s compensation injury/claims
  • Completes sick leave verifications
  • Updates and maintains district online application system, including posting job vacancies,
  • Assists applicants with the online application process by responding to phone and in-person inquiries, troubleshooting issues within the application process
  • Assists with new employee onboarding
  • Inputs data into HRIS and processes employee actions including new hires, rehires, transfers, salary changes, etc.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by Director of Human Resources
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or Superintendent
