Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the recruitment and hiring functions, supporting the health and safety programs, maintaining the human resources database and files, and providing administrative assistance to all members of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree or College Diploma or Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management;
  • 1-3 years of work experience in Human Resources
  • A good understanding of employment legislation and regulations (ESA, OHSA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, etc.)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience with HRIS an asset;
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks & meet deadlines;
  • Ability to deal with HR issues with a high level of discretion and confidentiality;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese a definite asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment process including: prepare job postings, advertise, screening, phone interviews, schedule interview, conduct reference checks, presenting job offers, & on-boarding.
  • Ensure timely completion of all accident/injury reporting to WSIB and support return to work procedures.
  • Participate in JHSC meetings and attend workplace inspection when required.
  • Maintain and ensure all ll Human Resources files and records are up-to-date, and in accordance with relevant legislation and the Foundation’s policies and procedures;
  • Work in close association with Payroll on new hire administrations, terminations, and providing payroll records/changes in accordance to the bi-weekly pay cycles;
  • Maintain and update HRIS and training system.
  • Assist and support HR projects/initiatives as required.
  • Promote employee recognition and retention by assisting with annual staff events and recognition programs;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
